Childwatch International Research Network is a worldwide, nongovernmental organisation of institutions engaged in child research. The goal of their collaboration is the promotion of child rights and the improvement of children’s well-being worldwide. Childwatch was founded in 1993 by the child well-being research community to respond to the 1990 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.The aim of Childwatch is to provide a platform for local, regional and national research efforts to increase more research-based policy world-wide and increase child research effectiveness globally. Childwatch is hosted at the University of Oslo.
Childwatch also helped to establish the International Society for Child Indicators.
