About
Progress eXplorer is a data visualisation tool created by NComVA. It is a planned addition to Wikiprogress. It will allow data from Wikiprogress.stat to be explored using geoanalytic tools such as filters and linked views. Users to analyse and communicate statistics using an interactive interface that combines maps with other visual presentations and to visualise the material in an animated time series.
Stories (visual presentation of data over a given time scale) visualised in eXplorer are called vislet, and are embeddable in wikiprogress articles, on blogs, websites and online journals. See below an example of a vislet below from the OECD Factbook eXplorer 2010.

About Progress eXplorer vislets
NComVA is involved in WikiProgress, as an associated partner to the The Global Project on Measuring the Progress of Societies, with an assigned objective to supply state-of-the-art Geovisual Analytics Web tools that explore statistics data and transform gained knowledge into public information.
Using the eXplorer tools we now have started to build “vislet” – 100% web compliant dynamic visualization objects that are meant to be embedded into any HTML-page e.g. WIKI-articles. In the first phase of this development we build upon our current eXplorer technology (OECD eXplorer), which adds the possibility of publishing stories as Booklet configurations.
A Booklet is a highly interactive visualization Flex/Flash object to be embedded in an electronic document or Wiki Media. A Booklet is assembled from “atomic” GAV Flash components and Flex GUI tools customized to transfer a Story to the public users.
