Well-Being Survey
The Malvatumauri National Council of Chiefs [1]has completed a pilot study conducted between 2010-2012 on well-being which measures happiness and considers variables that reflect Melanesian values. The study is part of the 'Alternative Indicators of Well-Being for Melanesia' project, endorsed by the Melanesian Spearhead Group and set to roll out to Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Fiji in 2013.

- ↑ The Malvatu Mauri, or National Council of Chiefs, is a formal advisory body of chiefs recognised by the Constitution of the Republic of Vanuatu. Members of the Council are elected by their fellow chiefs sitting in district councils of chiefs. The Council plays a significant role in advising the government on all matters concerning ni-Vanuatu culture and languages.
